The 5th Annual BIGMAP Symposium "Biotechnology Policy and Law"

held at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Ames, Iowa, on April 23rd was attended by an estimated 100 individuals involved in the study or trade of genetically engineered crops.

Vilsack Assumes Role of
Distinguished Fellow

Former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack was named a BIGMAP Distinguished Fellow in September 2007. Vilsack is co-teaching an Iowa State graduate course, "Science, Policy, and Food," serves on the BIGMAP advisory council, and will speak at this year's BIGMAP Symposium. Read More.
